The school day runs from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Fridays and half days.

Who can I contact if I have questions over the summer?

Our Operations Team (Main Office staff) will be offline and away from the building from June 25th through July 17th. We’ll respond to voicemail and email messages as soon as we are able when we return, in the order they were received.

Is there summer homework? What about other summer programs?

Summer homework was assigned and distributed before the end of the school year. Please contact BRMS_mainoffice@achievementfirst.org if you are having difficulty accessing the homework.

There are several additional summer programs:

·         AF Camp is a sleepaway camp for Achievement First students who are currently in grades 3-8 being held at a university campus in Rhode Island for two weeks.  Please visit www.achievementfirstcamp.org or call 862-233-1898 with any questions.

·         DOE Summer Rising is a Department of Education in-person enrichment program.  Please visit https://www.schools.nyc.gov/enrollment/summer/grades-k-8 for more infomation.

 

When is the first day of school? What time will school be?

5th graders: August 21th (half day)

All returning scholars: August 22th (half day)

The school day will run from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Fridays and half days.

We are planning for in person instruction Monday – Friday for all students without a medical exemption

Where can I get my scholar uniform?

Scholar uniforms can be purchased at JulianTees.

Lower School scholars (5th & 6th) wear blue polo with AFBRMS embroidered logo with black pants.

Upper School scholars (7th & 8th) wear red polo with AFBRMS embroidered logo with black pants.

Do I need to get any school supplies?

A full list of materials scholars will need for the 24-25 school year is attached here.

Materials vary between grades so please be aware of the differnce

 

When will I find out about homeroom assignments and teachers?

We’ll update the Contact page of the website by August with staff roles and will have opportunities at the beginning of the school year for families to meet teachers. Homeroom assignments will be shared with students on the first day of school and available in Campus Portal (https://achievementfirstct.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/AchieveFirst.jsp).

 

What if I am not planning to return to AFBRMS next year?

We’re so sorry to see you go! Please contact Mr. Smith (robertsmith@achievementfirst.org) as soon as possible to complete withdrawal paperwork, if you haven’t already done so.
